Start Planning Your Utah Mountain Summer Fun!

Although Utah keeps getting more and more snow, you should seriously start to think about what you'll be doing for your summer fun this year in the great state of Utah. Soon, the snow will start melting and you'll need to put away the skis until next winter. Start getting out your hiking shoes and biking gear! Take Advantage of One Final Utah Ski Trip!

We are past the mid-way point of March. Within a couple short weeks, Utah spring weather temperatures will start to get above the 60's and snow will start to melt fast. The streams and rivers will start to flow at much higher rates. The melting snow, while a signal of spring after a long and wet winter, is a sad annual occurrence for Utah Ski lovers. Utah has the greatest snow on Earth, so it's hard to see it disappear every year at the start of spring. Winter was all too short for Utah ski lovers! Regardless, if you act without delay, you may have time for one last epic ski trip to Utah this season. Book your flights and hotel accommodations today! Look Ahead to a Hike at Dog Lake!

Last fall, we decided to take advantage of one of the last snow-free weekends of the year to get one last hike in before we unpacked our skis and snowboards. Dog Lake was the quality hike of choice. We started up  Big Cottonwood Canyon  at the Butler Fork Trailhead.  Click here for directions . The hike is a little steep at first, but then it levels out to a comfortable incline. Overall the hike was about 6 miles. It's a great hike that you should plan on doing during your next Utah spring, summer, or fall ski trip! Here are some of the photos we took along the way. You'll notice a beautiful variety of colors and trees! Hiking to Dog Lake is a great option for the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Make sure you have snowshoes if you plan on trying in the winter.
